Brighton Girls Proudly Supports the Brighton Half Marathon Youth Races
Brighton Girls is delighted to once again be sponsoring the Brighton Half Marathon Youth Races, continuing our long-standing commitment to our local community, wellbeing and widening access to sport.
As part of this year’s event, we are proud to be funding 60 fully funded bursary places for young people from low-income families, ensuring that the Youth Races remain inclusive and accessible to all. Taking place on Hove Promenade, the Youth Races invite runners aged 7-17 of all abilities to complete a one-mile course along part of the half marathon route.
At Brighton Girls, we believe that opportunities like this can have a lasting impact. Sport builds confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging, qualities we actively encourage in our students and across the wider community. Supporting the Youth Races allows us to help remove financial barriers and ensure that more young people can experience the excitement and achievement of taking part in such a celebrated city event.
Brighton Girls is part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), a family of schools with a strong tradition of philanthropy and social responsibility. Across the Trust, schools are committed to creating positive change within their local communities, championing initiatives that promote wellbeing, access to education and opportunity for young people. Our involvement in the Youth Races reflects this shared ethos and our belief that education extends far beyond the classroom.
We are proud to support an event that brings the city together, celebrates young people’s achievements and promotes healthy, active lifestyles. We look forward to cheering on all the runners and being part of another inspiring Brighton Half Marathon weekend.
